Intro

Rules

  • Please donate $0.10 per cubic centimeter or per gram of ABS (or $0.20 per cubic centimeter or per gram of PETT), whether or not the print succeeded. This covers both replacement cost of media, and maintenance costs. There will eventually be an indicator on the LCD at the end of the job, or when the job is terminated, showing an estimated cost of print.

Instructions

SeeMeCNC recommended software is MatterControl.

There is a default setting for the printer contained in it. Matter Control is available on the laptop connected to this printer.

The power switch is around on the left back side. Look/feel for a 3d-printed bracket that is under the bed.

Cura has also been used successfully:

  • Create Delta profile
  • Set 140mm diameter, 200mm height (conservative settings until verified, can also use settings from Hacker H2 profile in MatterControl)
  • Note that this printer DOES have a heated bed, unlike the stock Hacker H2 profile, so select that in the settings for either program
  • Maximum nozzle temperature is 280C
  • Nozzle might be 0.4mm, should be labeled on machine

Glass bed is fragile, do not apply much force when scraping print off of bed. DO NOT USE METAL SCRAPER. Some plastic scraper blades are floating around the lab.

Also do not use a thermal shock to remove prints from the bed as this may damage borosilicate glass surface.

Trying to remember print settings:

  • Apply purple glue stick if prints do not stick well
  • PLA can be printed on a glued or not glued surface, does not care as much
  • PETG either required a perfectly clean surface or glue, cannot remember.
  • No clue what ABS wants, also probably wants an enclosed build chamber which could be designed and built if demand is present.

Maintenance Info

When done printing, clean off bed for next person to use and not have to clean up after.
