Intro
Need to hold something firmly in place while hammering on it relentlessly? then this is the vice you need. Also known as a post vice, or blacksmith's vice, this vice is designed to withstand what your standard bench vice cannot. While standard bench vices are composed of ductile cast iron, the blacksmith's vice is composed of forged iron. The leg provides additional support for the vice and allows vibrations from hammer strokes to travel into the ground.
Rules
1. NO WELDING ON THE LEG VICE. This vice is for hammering not welding. Since this vice is composed of forged iron, welding on it may destroy the vice.
2. Only turn and secure the handle with your hands, do not over crank. While it might be tempting to use your foot to get a secure grip on an object, it's completely unnecessary and doing so runs the risk of sheering the thread and ruining the vice.

3. Make sure steel covers are on the jaws before clamping object down.
