Proposal for Sponsorship of FIRST Robotics Team 3302

WHEREAS

• the members of i3detroit desire to "imagine, innovate & inspire" through education and technology.

• WHEREAS the mission of FIRST is "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology" and "To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders."

• WHEREAS i3detroit may be the first and only hackerspace in the world to sponsor a FIRST robotics team.

• WHEREAS the student members of team 3302 have demonstrated their gracious professionalism by being excellent guests of i3detroit during the 2010 season.

• WHEREAS the partnership of team 3302 and i3detroit resulted in outstanding success: the "Highest Rookie Seed" award, the "Rookie Inspiration" award and an invitation to the 2010 Michigan FIRST Robotics Competition State Championship

• WHEREAS building robots is awesome.

WE RESOLVE

• that i3detroit shall be a sponsor of SRT/i3Detroit/Parametric Technology Corporation/VBOX USA & Clawson High School, aka. Team 3302 - TurboTrojans.

• WE RESOLVE further that the sponsorship of 3302 shall include of use of the northeast corner of the main shop floor for the duration of the 2011 build season.

• WE RESOLVE further that student team members and others contributing to the team will be expected to abide by the i3detroit bylaws, standing rules and other conditions set by the membership or board of directors.
